Toyota Financial Services (TFS) are proud to sponsor Coastguard youth safety programmes.

Toyota Financial Services sponsors a number of Coastguard Boating Education youth safety courses.

The sponsorship, which consists of a substantial cash component as well as the provision of five new Toyota Camry vehicles, will help fund the two key CBES safety programmes aimed at youth: the Day Skipper Experience for Intermediate and Secondary School students and the Safe Boating Programme for Primary and Intermediate school students.

This will be the fourth year that Toyota Financial Services has assisted with the popular Day Skipper Experience programme. The programme, which features safety modules from the CBES Day Skipper course, sees students spend 2 to 2 1/2 hours at sea learning about skipper responsibilty, safe boating practices and how to take responsibility for their personal safety on board a vessel, regardless of whether they are in charge or just a member of the crew.

The relatively new Safe Boating Programme was launched in February to provide Primary and Intermediate schools with a resource to help prepare their students for boating activities. The programme includes lesson plans and activities for students from Year 5 to Year 8 and can be delivered by teachers. Primarily linked to the Health and Physical Education curriculum with links to Science, Technology and English curricula, it is a 'must' for all Primary/Intermediate schools who are preparing for practical boating experiences such as kayaking, yachting and power boating.
