You won't lose your no claims bonus!
Because you have an excellent driving history and have earned a full No Claims Bonus, we will make sure you're not disadvantaged if you make a claim. Regardless of who's at fault, you won't lose your No Claims Bonus*. All you need to do is provide proof of your existing no claims bonus of 60% or greater to qualify.

*Allowance for one 'no-recovery' claim per period of insurance.

What is the cover for a used vehicle?
If your used vehicle is stolen or damaged beyond repair within the first 12 months of purchase, we will give you the purchase price or market value replacement cost of your used vehicle, whichever is the greater*.

To qualify, just make sure you take out Toyota Vehicle Insurance within 30 days of becoming the registered owner of this vehicle.

*Subject to adequate sum insured.

What is the cover for Signature Class / SBT Vehicles?
Good as new - Guaranteed:
We'll pay the reasonable cost to replace your vehicle with the same or similar make, model and specification if, during the first two years and up to 100,000* kilometres of your continuous ownership of the vehicle, it is stolen or damaged beyond repair.

To qualify, just make sure you take out Toyota Vehicle Insurance within 30 days of becoming the registered owner of your new vehicle.

What is the cover for a new vehicle?
Good as new - Guaranteed:
We'll pay the reasonable cost to replace your vehicle with the same or similar make, model and specification if, during the first three years and up to 100,000* kilometres of your continuous ownership of the vehicle, it is stolen or damaged beyond repair.

Full replacement for new Lexus vehicles has been extended to 4 years and up to 140,000 kilometres.

To qualify, just make sure you take out Toyota Vehicle Insurance within 30 days of becoming the registered owner of your new vehicle.

*A demonstrator is defined as a vehicle first registered to a Toyota dealer up to a maximum of 5,000 kilometres and a period of less than six months, whichever occurs first.

Only genuine Toyota parts
We won't use replacement parts that are second-rate substitutes. They'll always be genuine Toyota parts and come with Toyota's 12-month genuine parts warranty*.

*Excludes windscreens and window glass.

You can get assistance in the event of an accident or make a claim at any time by calling 0800 772 666.

We'll get you home
If you have an accident when you're away from home, we'll contribute up to $1,000 towards the cost of the fares to get you back home again.*

We'll also cover the cost of towing the vehicle back home or to the nearest place of safety.

*Maximum of $1,000 is payable in any 12 month period.

Use of another vehicle
If your vehicle is in an accident we will ensure you're not left totally stranded while your vehicle is being repaired. Provided your vehicle is being repaired by a Toyota Vehicle Insurance authorised repairer a temporary vehicle will be provided.

If it's not your fault, it's not your cost
Your excess will be reimbursed, and you won't lose your no claims bonus if the accident is proven to be the other party's fault, and you have provided sufficient details of the other party to enable us to contact them.*

Multi Vehicle Discount
If you insure more than one vehicle with Toyota Vehicle Insurance, you'll get a discount across all policies, even if they're not Toyotas*. You can include your family members' vehicles as well**, because the more vehicles you include - the bigger the discount. So not only will you have the convenience of having all your policies with one insurer, you'll be saving money as well.

*Subject to vehicle eligibility criteria. **As long as all family members live at the same address.

Your comprehensive Toyota Insurance cover also includes the following:
• Trailer cover up to $1,000
• Vehicle contents up to $1,000
• Complimentary glass cover (no excess applicable)*
• Medical expenses cover up to $5,000
• Key and lock replacement to a maximum of $1,000 maximum plus an additional $2,000 maximum if your security system requires replacement**
• Limited cover for legal defence
• Supplementary cover for bodily injury up to $5,000,000
• $20,000,000 Legal Liability cover

Can I get cover for any Toyota, Lexus or Daihatsu?
Yes. Toyota Vehicle Insurance is available to owners of new and used Toyota, Lexus and Daihatsu vehicles up to 15 years of age. All Toyota, Lexus and Daihatsu vehicles qualify whether or not they were bought from a Toyota dealer.

Does my vehicle have to be a Toyota?
If your vehicle is not a Toyota, Lexus or Daihatsu it is likely to still qualify for cover as long as you bought it from a Toyota dealer. Contact your Toyota dealer for a list of ineligible vehicles.

Can I transfer my no claims discount from my current insurer?
Yes. Your no claims discount can be based on your previous insurance record. We'll need a letter from your previous insurer to verify your claims experience.

What's a 'no claims bonus' and how do I get one?
A 'no claims bonus' is a discount on your premium. You accumulate a discount up to a maximum amount for each period of insurance in which you don't make a claim.

What payment options do I have?
You can pay your premium monthly or annually or you can buy multi-year cover (subject to the vehicle being financed through Toyota Financial Services). Monthly premiums are paid by direct debit. You can pay annual or multi-year premiums by cash, cheque or credit card.

If you are financing your vehicle through Toyota Financial Services, you can include your Toyota Vehicle Insurance premium as part of the vehicle financing.

What costs are covered if I have an accident?
Following an accident or recovery of your stolen vehicle, Toyota Vehicle Insurance covers the reasonable cost of:
• Securing your vehicle and towing it to the nearest repairer or place of safety
• Getting you and your immediate family home if the vehicle cannot be driven
• Returning your vehicle to your home, and
• A temporary vehicle, provided your vehicle is being repaired by a Toyota Vehicle Insurance authorised repairer

If you pay these costs initially, we will reimburse you when your claim has been processed.

What happens if my vehicle can't be repaired or is stolen and not recovered?
We will pay you the market value. That means the amount of money it would cost to buy a similar vehicle of the same make, model and condition with similar accessories from a Toyota dealer nearest your home.

However, provided you buy Toyota Vehicle Insurance within 30 days of becoming the registered owner of the vehicle, we agree to give you the following options:
• If your vehicle was new or a demonstrator* vehicle when you bought it, we'll pay the reasonable cost to replace your vehicle with a new vehicle of the same or similar make, model and specification if, during the first three years or 100,000 kilometres of your continuous ownership of the vehicle. If you don't want to replace the vehicle we will pay an amount equal to its make and value. (* A demonstrator is defined as a vehicle first registered to a Toyota dealer up to a maximum of 5,000 kilometres and a period of less than six months, whichever occurs first.)
• If your second hand vehicle is stolen or damaged beyond repair during the first 12 months of continuous ownership, we will pay you whichever is the higher of its current market value or the price you paid for it.

Am I covered for the cost of a replacement vehicle while mine is being repaired?
If your vehicle is damaged or stolen we will ensure you're not stranded. We will provide either a repairer's courtesey vehicle or a rental vehicle for up to 14 days.

Is my vehicle's glass covered against cracks and breakage?
Yes. We will repair or replace vehicle window glass that is accidentally damaged. You will not have to pay any excess and your No Claims Bonus will not be affected for your first claim in any 12 month period of insurance.

What if I lose my keys or they are stolen?
If your keys are stolen, or if you believe they have been copied illegally, we will pay the costs incurred in altering or replacing locks or keys to a maximum of $1,000. If you lose all the keys for your vehicle and the security system must be replaced, we will pay a maximum of an additional $2,000 in any one period of insurance.

Is my trailer covered?
Yes. We will pay for the accidental loss of or damage to any trailer attached to your vehicle at the time of the accident or theft. We will pay the lesser of the market value of the trailer or $1,000.

If I replace my vehicle, will my car insurance cover the new one?
If you permanently replace your vehicle, we'll cover the replacement vehicle from the date you bought it subject to our standard terms and conditions. You need to give us full written details of the replacement vehicle and pay any extra premium within 14 days of the date you bought it. Cover on the vehicle you replaced stops from the date you bought the new one.

Am I covered for any legal costs?
Yes. Provided we agree in writing, we will pay for all legal costs and expenses in defending any court proceedings which may arise from accidental loss, damage or liability covered by your policy. We will not pay for any legal costs and expenses relating to any criminal or traffic proceedings.

What does 'excess' mean and when do I have to pay it?
An excess is the amount you pay towards the cost of any claim under your policy. Paying an excess helps keep the cost of your premium down by reducing the number of small claims. There are three different types of excess:
• Basic excess - the first amount you must pay on each claim.
• Age excess - an additional amount if you claim for an accident where a driver under the age of 25 was driving your vehicle.
• Inexperienced driver excess - an additional amount if you claim for an accident where a driver over the age of 25 who has held their licence for less than two years was driving your vehicle.

Will I pay excess or lose my no claims bonus if it's not my fault?
We will refund any excess you have paid providing the driver of the insured vehicle did not contribute to the cause of the accident, however you must supply the name, address and driver's licence number of the responsible party and registration plate details of the other vehicle(s) involved in the accident.
